Waxahachie is home to sixteen city parks, the Waxahachie Hike and Bike Trail and the Waxahachie Sports Complex.
Our parks truly offer a unique beauty that enhances the quality of life for our residents and will continue to do so for generations to come. The Waxahachie Creek Hike & Bike Trail is a four mile concrete trail that is anchored on each end by Getzendaner Park and Lions Park and runs through historic Downtown Waxahachie.
Getzendaner Park is also home to the historic Chautauqua Auditorium, which is one of the last remaining structures of its kind. The Chautauqua was built in 1902 and has been home to many wonderful and interesting perfeormances, including the legendary Will Rogers.
